I love you, you hate me – You love me I hate you #WTF

What is up with that aspect of human nature? I mean seriously.

You want what you can’t have, and then when it’s available you no longer want it. Is it the thrill of the chase? A case of fatal attraction? Or is it something more masochistic?

I have always pondered the allure between perfectly nice looking, wonderful girls with big hearts and their obsession with douchebags. What is with that? You treat him amazing and he treats you as carelessly as scarf going out the window of a moving car. Do guys love bitches? Or does he just hate you? And if he hates you why does he keep coming around? Because he can? Because you let him? Because it’s a game? Is that a fun game to be a part of? Maybe he’s totally hot? But how long can you use that excuse, “Well he’s totally inconsiderate and for the large part oblivious to my emotions….but he’s really attractive!!!” Good looks are not an excuse for bad behavior, and even in your mid-20s (yikes!) I realize this is especially easy to overlook/forget. Woman up!

Every guy wants a girl who is bad only for him and every girl wants a bad boy who is good only for her.
— Evette Carter

More so why do self respecting women put up with this type of behavior from guys when they don’t have to? There are plenty of men lining up to treat them well and give them the type of attention they deserve. It boggles my mind. Do you think these women are just not ready for a mature relationship or are they part masochist: having deep seeded, maybe even an unconscious belief that they deserve to be treated terribly. Honestly, how can you put up with that sort of behavior for any long duration of time if you don’t deep down think you are worthy of anything better? These are the glory years of your life – your 20s! Ditch the dude that only sees you when feels like it, complains the whole time, and spend it with your girlfriends or people that ACTUALLY care about you.

Long story short: Don't settle for a bad boy when you deserve a good man.

Let's get one thing straight: stripes for as long as I can remember have represented one thing in life I have simultaneously respected and disdained; uniforms.  Going to a private high school a polo paired with a striped skirt was part of the everyday uniform, to boot with tube socks; I hated that thing. Every time I wore those stripes I swear without fail I would get into some sort of altercation. Be it with my parents, the dean at my high school, or some poor unsuspecting teacher that was just trying to do their job. Soon enough I was associating stripes with a recusant connotation. In fact, just yesterday I fell off a bike (badly might I add) while wearing stripes. Cool, everyone cares, anyways..

*disclaimer: Hi all! I deeply apologize for all of my actions as a teenager. Thank you for not killing me*

Anyway, back to me. As someone who prides herself on having fierce individuality while constantly and consistently doing her own thing I found the whole uniform thing entirely constricting, tauten, even suffocating. I wanted to do my own thing and this institution was hell bent on all of us looking the same, the antithesis of my beliefs, no thanks.

At the same time stripes have been the moniker of a sport I have followed ever since my Dad took me to my first Giant's game when I was 10 (PacBell Park just opened and it was shiny & new!): baseball. Uniforms make sense in that entity; sports, teams, representing unity or that you are only as strong as your weakest player, something along those lines? I would also like to point out that many athletes fall victim to rage while in stripes, much like the teenage Kelly. Just something to think about.. Nonetheless outside of those 9+ innings I had maja issues gettin' behind the whole uniform thing.

Clearly times have changed. I realized that stripes also represented a pretty rad country (I deeply apologize for the imperialism/nationalistic attitude I am about to express, but really I'm not all that apologetic): AMERRRICCAAA. The very definition of freedom. Other than that, Louie Vuitton, Prada, Moschino, WunderKind, and Balenciaga totally capitalized on stripes in the Spring of 2011 and my life has not been the same since *embellishing for dramatic effect* Thus my love affair with stripes began, and if yours hasn't already -- it should. XOXO

DVF ---> HYFR

DVF, three letters, one acronym, with a meaning of epic proportions. For those less familiar you are probably reading this post thinking, DVF, WTF? Let's begin at the beginning (what a concept!) with a small European country that has blessed the world with it's existence in a multitude of ways. I have always been a fan of Belgium and all the pleasures it has brought me in life: Chimay, Brussels, just to name a few. However,  Belgium born fashion icon/designer Diane Von Furstenberg is at the top of the list.  DVF's most notable accomplishment would hands down be the invention of: The Wrap Dress. The wrap dress elicits much of it's grandeur from being flattering on any female figure. Since the weather is starting to smile at us more each day, a DVF dress-icle is a must have essential for a summertime sans sadness (sorry Lana!)

Why Whyte Linen Blazers Are IT

Blazer: J.Crew

Nothing says spring time quite like linen blazers and florals, in the words of rap legend biggie, "if ya don't know, now ya know!" My love affair with linen blazers, most specifically of the white pigment, started the day some drunk girl left hers at my place. After repeatedly trying to figure out the rightful owner of the gorgeous piece, I tried it on (oh whatever, like I am the only one that's ever done that..) To my pleasure it fit perfectly. Which is saying something since I'm a bit on the lanky side and have an annoyingly long torso, I call it fate.

Top 3 Reasons WhyILoveWhyte:

1) It goes with everything, for us ladies that like to rock the denim: ROCK ON

2) Linen is much lighter than the average blazer fabric, obviously making it a springtime essential, guys is pimps too (buy a linen blazer boys if you have yet to do so, the time is now!)

3) It makes me look tan.

Since it's been the epitome of vacation weather lately, I sometimes remove my linen lovely and show off my awesome farmer's tan (still trying to figure out how I obtained that one!)

For those like myself, everyday might as well be SHOESDAYTUESDAY. Let's just say my predilection for adorning my feet is nearing the triple digits and showing no signs of slowing down #embarrassing #sorrydadbutimreallynotallthatsorry.
