Nothing says spring time quite like linen blazers and florals, in the words of rap legend biggie, "if ya don't know, now ya know!" My love affair with linen blazers, most specifically of the white pigment, started the day some drunk girl left hers at my place. After repeatedly trying to figure out the rightful owner of the gorgeous piece, I tried it on (oh whatever, like I am the only one that's ever done that..) To my pleasure it fit perfectly. Which is saying something since I'm a bit on the lanky side and have an annoyingly long torso, I call it fate.

Top 3 Reasons WhyILoveWhyte:

1) It goes with everything, for us ladies that like to rock the denim: ROCK ON

2) Linen is much lighter than the average blazer fabric, obviously making it a springtime essential, guys is pimps too (buy a linen blazer boys if you have yet to do so, the time is now!)

3) It makes me look tan.

Since it's been the epitome of vacation weather lately, I sometimes remove my linen lovely and show off my awesome farmer's tan (still trying to figure out how I obtained that one!)

For those like myself, everyday might as well be SHOESDAYTUESDAY. Let's just say my predilection for adorning my feet is nearing the triple digits and showing no signs of slowing down #embarrassing #sorrydadbutimreallynotallthatsorry.

I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, it’s appropriate for women to wear pants, but not necessarily for men to wear dresses.
— Whitney Houston

The colored pants phenomena: I love it. When it started in full force? I could not tell you. Now it is something so predominant within fashion you assume it always was this way. Myself, an avid fan. Currently have 20+ pairs of pants hanging in my closet (this is not including the plethora of pairs packed to the gills in my hamper!) Most of these lovely pairs are colors bleeding more exuberance than the classic denim. Some are fans of that whole, pants off dance off!  ideology. Ideally I say, it's just as much of a party with them on!

Chambray: Make you feel some type of way

Chambray, just rolls off the tongue, much like champagne or merlot merlot. Perhaps those go on the tongue instead of rolling off? Whateva. If I had it my way I would wear Chambray everyday. However, that would require myself partaking in one of the most arduous tasks (not to mention time consuming) laundry. Who wants to do that? Who has the time to do that? I suppose I could just buy a plethora of chambrays; however I do not think I could justify that and something about it is far too impetuous.

[24] hour power, or [24] hour power year?

You are only allotted so many trips around the sun, and in all seriousness you never know how many you are going to get. I was lucky enough to celebrate one of those trips earlier this week, most specifically in the middle of Paris Fashion Week (I die) & on Fat Tuesday! That’s right, my birthday was on Mardi Gras – however I made the decision of not adorning traditional Mardi Gras attire and decided to go for something a bit more inspired:

Inspiration: Paris Fashion Week Street Style: Day 9

I fell in madly in love maybe 20 days ago with the crop top/ full skirt look. Maybe because I have been bombarded by this pairing extensively during London, Italy and now Paris fashion week, but maybe not. Not usually a fan of crop tops since I feel uncomfortable exposing that much of my stomach while simultaneously reminding people of the 90s. That being said, the full skirt alone is quite severe and can appear too stiff/formal for my taste if styled incorrectly. The crop top/full skirt mixture meets young/chic/fun/icantakeovertheworldbecauseitsmybirthday with elegance and sophistication in the most appealing of forms.

Determined to find a look that resembled the one above I headed to Nordy’s; keeping in mind the facet of human nature, or the reality life as such: everytime you are looking for something you can never find it. However, the birthday gods smiled down on me (PS THANKS) because I found the striped skirt, brand: Halogen, and crop top, brand: Tildon fairly quickly. Insta outfit [literally insta]. I kept in mind I had this exquisite necklace I purchased in Scottsdale last year from Madewell, and sassy candy apple red suede Sam Edelman platforms with an ankle strap that would go harmoniously with my new purchases.

Overall, I felt the love on my birthday: 24 FOLD. Incredibly blessed for all the amazing individuals in my life that I hold close to my heart, they all know who they are and they ain’t nothing it they don’t. Thank you for making this my best birthday yet. Like wine, age gets better with time.

A special shout out to Willie Mays, who absolutely killed this number throughout his epic career. Maybe I’ll even hit a few grand slams while repping this number.
